HAF Equipment was
founded in 1994 by Pete Hoefler. Incorporated in the
State of Minnesota and is owned by its founder.
The company was originally run out of the upstairs
of a specialty shop in downtown Stillwater. This
city was and still is a tourist destination located
on the St Croix river on the Minnesota-Wisconsin
border. Office space ( 10 foot x 12 foot room) above
a specialty shop worked out well as the rent was
reasonable. Trucks would stop at the front door of
our building which was on main street to unload our
incoming shipments. Things like airlocks, and divert
valves where physically pulled off truck and carried
upstairs.
The company was eventually moved to a commercial
building located in a local industrial park. This
provided us great freedom as we had a loading dock
and more space. While lacking proper electrical
service and lack of water utilities in our shop, the
building has served us well.
We have most recently (2005) moved into our new building
located in Centerville Minnesota.
Our new location was selected primarily because of
the location. We are now located within a 9 mile
radius of all of our fabricating/machining/controls
facilities and within 10 miles of downtown St Paul,
MN.
Savel
In 1995 Savel was purchased from a private owner in
Wisconsin. Currently run as a separate but
dovetailed company from HAF Equipment. This company
was founded and developed to compete directly with
Nucon. The original founders where involved with the
importing of Nucon airlocks from New Zealand. On or
around 1992 this group had a falling out partially
caused by a New Zealand-American dollar issue. They
separated and started Savel.
The product consists primarily of a wide range of
sanitary airlocks and divert valves. Many
improvements and features have been added to the
product line to meet the demands of modern process.
